Welcome Friends! I love to travel, and while I have visited many places within the U.S, I never imagined myself living abroad. But here I am, spending the next 12-18 months in South Korea to support my husband in his work endeavors. My motivation for creating this “journal” blog is to document for myself and share with others, through stories, short musings, and photos, my experiences as I venture to a new land. Some new friends have been telling me about all the changes they have seen, just over the past 5-10 years. They took me to the Port of Incheon today, to see the harbor, piers, locks (the difference in water depth at high and low tide is 20 feet!), and the actual place where General MacArthur and US Marines landed 60 years ago today during the Korean war. A stone marker markes the landing point. Located next to a busy highway quite a distance from the current water line, it’s difficult to imagine what this area once was. But I’m glad it’s marked just the same…so we don’t forget.
